Mobile World Congress 2013 Scoop

The biggest and best mobile technology event took place this past week in Barcelona, Spain. Mobile World Congress brought in over 70,000 people wanting to find out what’s up next in the mobile world. Although there are countless exciting and innovative products coming out that deserve attention… we would like to share two products that we believe to be the latest and greatest.

LG Optimus Pro takes the cake for the overall best smartphone at MWC.  LG seemed to hone in on the concept of multitasking when they created the Optimus Pro. Users can run multiple apps at a time as well as dual record, which means they can operate both the front and back camera at the same time. A new feature I find to be exciting in the Optimus Pro is QTranslate – an offline, real-time translation of words that are viewed in either camera lens. To top it all off, this phone has a 5.5 inch fully HD screen and a 3,140 mAh battery. We have a filling this smartphone will be one of the most coveted gifts this upcoming year.

Sony Xperia Z seemed to trump all tablets this year at MWC. At this point, it is the world’s thinnest tablet at .3 inches thick. If you think your iPad has amazing color – you should check out the Xperia Z because it has 20 percent greater color gamut, which is quite impressive! My favorite feature about this tablet is that it has the ability to go under water up to 6 inches for 30 minutes at a time. Finally, this tablet has an IR blaster as well as the SideView app – which makes life a bit easier with the ability to see what is on TV and change channels if need be.

There were plenty of impressive mobile gadgets at Mobile World Congress 2013. These gadgets have raised the bar for competition in technology and we cannot wait to see what the rest of this year brings in that department.
