2012 Mobile Website Traffic

Mobile website traffic as a whole is really taking off this year. Overall traffic has increased tremendously. But when it’s broken down by operating system, we really haven’t seen too much change.

Although Apple’s hold on the mobile market is roughly around 7%, they continue to have the majority of mobile traffic – at least coming to the 1,700+ sites hosted on the MobiFriendly platform.

Android keeps relatively steady, almost a perfect reflection of iOS traffic. With the Android/iOS share taking up over 90% of mobile traffic, not much is left for other operating systems.

Since it’s nearly impossible to make out the percentages in the above graph, here is a table of raw numbers.

Blackberry is steadily declining, while Windows Phone hit a peak in May and has been declining since. We’re curious to see if it can get back over the 1% mark after Windows Phone 8 is released to the masses…
